Spider veins usually develop just below the skin surface. These veins are small blood vessels and capillaries and are between 1 mm and 3 mm diameter. Spider veins do not have a specific area of the body that are contained and can develop around anywhere.
Which is prone to spider veins?

Age – spider veins usually develop between the ages of 18 to 35. However, during the peak age of 50-60.
Gender – Although spider veins occur in both men and women, women are more prone to this condition.
Pregnancy – Pregnancy plays an important role in the development of spider veins. This occurs as circulating hormones weaken the walls of the vein.
