VENTILATED AND REHABILITATION OF COMMUNITIESFacades with ceramic tiles
Rehabilitation of facades with ventilated facade system consists of applying a coating sheet on the support wall of the community so that it is between the wall bracket and blade coating an air chamber that enables and facilitates the thermal insulation and acoustic demanded in current legislation in the field of construction and rehabilitation (CTE). This type of coating characteristics and method of attachment is called batch or tiled cladding.
Various are the materials that can be used as discontinuous coatings: stone, ceramic, sandwich panels.
The ceramic coatings used in ventilated facades provide thermal and acoustic insulation and provide greater durability and integrity ventilated facade. There are various advantages of ceramic tiles in the rehabilitation of facades both aesthetic (multiple surface treatments and colors, modularity) as technical as it can be used not only in the rehabilitation of facades using ventilated facade systems (using anchors or staples) or simply attached to the wall bracket with cementitious adhesives with special additives); advantages deriving from the characteristics of the ceramic coating materials such as resistance to water and chemicals, do not generate static charges, high abrasion resistance or be self-cleaning materials.
The choice of ceramic coatings is important to determine the place before and use that will give this factor as determined some necessary for optimum coating performance characteristics. When ceramic tiles are used indoors or have to go attached to the wall that have high levels of porosity to facilitate adherence to the wall are used. On the contrary if ceramic coatings are used in ventilated facades, mechanical strength is more important than the degree of porosity. It must also take into account other factors such as the surface to be coated, so that large ceramic tiles are not recommended for covering small areas or accommodation properties and physical and chemical characteristics of the ceramic coating to the requirements by the current regulations on construction and rehabilitation.
