The rehabilitation of the facade of a residents usually associated either to the correction of defects that generate unfavorable rating in the Technical Building Inspection (ITE), or to the need for cleaning of the facade for aesthetic reasons. This kind of rehabilitation is usually done without considering energy efficiency criteria and often overlooked thermal bridges in the faade.
Thermal bridges are zones of the facade of the building in which there are variations in the uniformity of construction due either to change the thickness of the envelope or materials used or to the penetration of building elements with different conductivity (fronts wrought , openings of windows); making it the most sensitive parts of thermal bridges where it is especially easy to moisture condensation occurring due to lower thermal resistance.
The linear thermal bridges that form at the junction of two or more built elements such as the span of a window on the facade and so-called three-dimensional or punctual thermal bridges that form: two types of thermal bridges in buildings are distinguished when a thermally isolated enclosure is pierced by a thermal bridge or also those that occur at the intersection of three corners.
Rehabilitation of facades of communities to meet energy efficiency criteria, as stated in the current technical building code (CTE), should contemplate the break of thermal bridges, thus eliminating the possibility of not only training surface condensation which usually generate the appearance of mold and the degradation of structural FACADES THERMAL BRIDGE but heat losses due to reduced heat resistance are also avoided. To achieve this, communities of owners must rehabilitate the facade giving it a thermal insulation, with a choice of thermal insulation inside, outside or by injection into chambers.
